Meet the Committee
Blackwood and Kirkmuirhill Resilience Group (SCIO) is a registered charity SC052401. We initially set up as a constituded group to support the community through the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023 we became a registered charity with the aims to support the community with long term recovery and renewal.
Lesley Speedie
Lesley is the chairperson of the committee. In her full time employment she works for a major onshore renewables company and is part of a renewables emergency planning and crisis response team. Lesley Volunteers her time to the group as well as the Clydesdale Community First Responders
Vicky Grove
Vicky is the group treasurer and assists with the community outreach projects. In her full time employment she is the bereavement specialist midwife for NHS Lanarkshire and is in her final year of a post-graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Although currently out of action due to a knee injury she spends most of her free time walking with her dogs.
Katrina Buckley
Katrina is the Vice Chairperson and the community outreach and engagement lead. An Emotional & Mental Wellbeing Coach & Trainer who works in partnership with schools and local communities & organisations to provide coaching and mentoring for children, young people & families. As well as volunteering with the group Katrina also volunteers her time with the NSPCC Schools Service. She enjoys outdoors adventure but isn't quite as brave as her adrenaline seeking kids!
